Michael Fakesch, based in Germany, is the visionary behind DESIGNING SOUNDS. He’s a multifaceted talent in the music world – music producer, sound designer, DJ, lecturer, and film music composer.

Michael first made waves as part of the band FUNKSTÖRUNG, which was instrumental in shaping the IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) and Glitch Hop genres. Their innovative remixes for artists like BJÖRK and WU-TANG CLAN, along with their collaborations with visual artists such as THE DESIGNERS REPUBLIC and ZEITGUISED, earned them international acclaim.

His journey took a new direction with sound design for TV and internet ads, where his work quickly gained recognition. Michael has since contributed to high-profile projects for brands like Adidas, BMW, Kia, LEGO, Lexus, MTV, Mercedes Benz, Nike, Toyota, VW and many others, including a Golden Lion awarded campaign for a Philips.

In addition to his commercial work, Michael shares his expertise as a lecturer at KUNSTUNIVERSITÄT LINZ in Austria, where he teaches sound design and music for motion pictures.
